artoberfest: world cultures day performance by gamelan genta kasturi and cucharada

rockhurst students, faculty, and staff . . . celebrate world cultures day on campus with a free noon concert on the quad. 

cucharada is a kansas city ensemble that performs the most famous musical export of buenos aires: tango! this quintet features some of the finest musicians in the area including world-renown vocalist fedra cooper barrera. this performance will include pieces familiar to dancers as well as concert audiences that spans the gamut of argentinean music in the past 120 years.

opening for cucharada will be the local group gamelan genta kasturi. over the past 20+ years, this organization has carried a tradition of performing music native to bali on various stages in our metro.
