biography 

marcie swift, pt, ph.d., faaompt, is an associate professor and teaches in the orthopedic track of the physical therapy program. swift received her master of science in physical therapy in 1996 and her ph.d. in rehabilitation sciences in 1997 — both from the university of kansas. swift collaborates with other healthcare and community partners to provide inter-professional simulation experiences for nursing and physical therapy students. she investigates evaluation methods of student performance and clinical reasoning, including the use of standardized patients in objective structured clinical examinations. 

swift is a graduate of the kaiser-hayward advanced orthopedic manual therapy fellowship program in oakland, california, and is a fellow in the american academy of orthopedic manual physical therapists. her primary area of practice has been orthopedic manual physical therapy with a focus on the treatment of patients of all ages with spinal disorders.
