computational statistics certificate

a certificate in computational statistics provides the tools for students to be able to propose and communicate solutions to statistical problems using computer algorithms, a highly sought-after set of skills with a growing job market.
this certificate can be pursued on its own, or as a complement to any undergraduate degree.
learning outcomes
- communicate statistical understanding in a variety of settings, both orally and in writing
- use technology to support and illustrate statistical investigations and problem-solving
- describe, interpret and do exploratory analysis of data
- analyze data appropriately using:
- probability theory
- statistical reasoning and inferential methods
- statistical computing and
- statistical modeling

requirements:
a grade of c or better is required in each upper-division course counted toward fulfillment of the certificate requirements. (a grade of c- will not satisfy this requirement.)
