mathematics minor, classical mathematics track

minor field of concentration

the student may choose between two tracks for a mathematics minor. students majoring in physics may complete a mathematics minor under the applied mathematics track. a grade of c or better is required in each upper-division course counted toward fulfillment of the minor requirements. (a grade of c- will not satisfy this requirement.)

classical mathematics track:

required lower division courses:

• mt 2800 - calculus iii (4)

• or

• mt 2200 - mathematical computing (3)

required upper division courses:

• mt 3800 - introduction to abstract mathematics (3)
• mt 3810 - linear algebra (3)
• mt 3700 - differential equations (3)
• at least one additional 3000- or 4000- three credit hour math course
