this course focuses on social science approaches (psychology, sociology, anthropology) to the study of gender. the question of “what does it mean to be male and female in our culture?” will be critically examined by the way gender systems are constructed, and sustained. gender differences and similarities are examined through film, media, technology, culture, biology, and identities.
